Mimiko Swears-In New Local Government Chairmen
Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, on Tuesday, sworn-in new Chairmen of Interim Committees of the 18 Locla Government in the State to steer the affairs of the Local Government Areas.
The caretaker chairmen include, Messrs Lekan Bada (Akoko North East), Olusesan Kumuyi (Akoko North West), Sola Agbi (Akoko South East), Gbenga Adeniyi (Akoko South West), Olu Aderuku (Akure North), Michael Adeleke (Akure South), Festus Dabo (Ese-odo), Jerome Odesanmi (Idanre) and Hon. Pius Adebusuyi (Ifedore).
Others are Messrs Soji Ayenuro (Ilaje), Kole Akinbolarin (Ileoluji/Okeigbo), Dele Olatunji (Irele),Felix Olatunde (Odigbo), Niyi Pirisola (Okitipupa), Wale Akinlosotu (Ondo East), Bola Makinde (Ondo West), Victor Olotu (Ose) and Tunde Owadimbola (Owo).
In his remarks at the occasion, Governor Mimiko charged them to avoid illegal recruitment of workers and embark on revenue generation drive that is devoid of public brutalization, stressing that local government was not meant to pay salaries alone but to carry out laudable developmental projects in the best interest of the people at the grassroots.
Mimiko however urged the people of the council areas not to put unnecessary demands on the new chairmen so that they can concentrate their time and energy on the socio-economic transformation of their council areas.
